This month brought a lot of updates to our Waiting Warriors community! From now on the first podcast of the month will be from yours truly 😉 . I will introduce a theme that will be carried out on Instagram and Facebook. The theme will always be something that will help make our lives as Waiting Warriors EASIER so we can THRIVE. On Instagram and Facebook I’ll be sharing tips, helps and the best products for the theme so you can make the improvements you need in your life to Thrive.
1st Episode: JANUARY’S THEME: Getting Ready Everyday
It may seem like such a silly thing to have as a theme, something that’s supposed to help people who are constantly living in a chaotic, stressful state. BUT after 6+ years of being married to a solider and 5 1/2 of raising 3 (#4 is due in April 🙂 ) girls, I’ve learned that everything REALLY goes to crap, when I feel like crap.
YES, something as simple as getting ready everyday can help your life be better. But before I talk too much about that let me explain something. Everyone has a different definition of “getting ready”. The point is you need to get ready to the point where you feel a lift and feel good about yourself. For me that means I’ve brushed my hair, put real clothes and shoes on, put my Maskcara 3D Foundation on and some mascara (Currently loving Shine Cosmetics Fiber Lash). Others it just means brushing their hair that day. I AM NOT HERE TO JUDGE or tell you to look exactly like me. I’m just saying that when you look a little put together, you feel more put together. And who doesn’t need that when their loved one is gone all the time and you’ve been left to keep home life running?
That’s the gist, but you can check out the episode here (iTunes) (Youtube) (Stitcher) (also on Google Play but I have all apple devices so I can’t get you the link. SORRY!) to hear a little more, and trust me, you gotta try it out. On your crappiest day, give yourself a little sumthin’ sumthin’ fancy and fresh and try and tell me you don’t feel a little better 😉
2nd Episode: POWER OF GRATITUDE with COTE from AMMO & GRACE
“When we concentrate on what we have, then we have enough. And if we concentrate on what we don’t have then we’re always lacking.” @ammoandgrace ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This weeks episode is chalked full of good reminds on gratitude from Coti, a law enforcement wife, from Ammo and Grace. Go listen to her episode (iTunes) (Youtube) (Stitcher) and find some ways to use gratitude to strengthen your relationship with your loved one! We’d love to see you get her printable and share in your posts what you’re learning and tag us so we can cheer you on!⠀
Austin and I have been using this printable for three weeks now, (most of that time he’s been in Air Assault School) and it’s been REALLY fun to see how much it helped us stay connected, even though he was busy all the time and “us” time was dramatically reduced. I HIGHLY recommend using the printable anytime, but ESPECIALLY when your warrior is in training or a crazy shift schedule. I know I plan on whipping it out every training or school he has in the future. Probably even a few times during the deployment!⠀⠀⠀

3rd Episode: GIVING BIRTH DURING A DEPLOYMENT with BROOKELYN EUBANK
“It’s ok to reach out and tell people that you need help. It’s ok to tell people that you’re not ok, and that you’re not in a good place, and that you need a minute, and accept that help.” @mrsbrookeeubank ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Deployments are hard. Having a baby is hard. No doubt about either of those things. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Combining them puts you in a whole different ball game, but that’s what Brookelyn Eubank has endured. And endured it well!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

4th Episode: FACING POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY EVERYDAY with CODI ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“You want to be a mom and you know you want this child and you want to take care of them, but no one but actually follows up to make sure that moms are ok.” @Codiishername
Codi shares her story of going through a tornado of being a military spouse, loss, having young babies, and health problems that spiraled her into severe depression and anxiety. She gives powerful reminders that we need to be honest with our care takers and even more importantly, SPEAK UP, even when the caretaker isn’t asking the right questions.
